Commissioners Doug Tucker and Bill Bullock, and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance
Betty Grewell, Bob Adkins, Carl Devries, Joann Blyton, Scott Blain, and Danny Mydland were present.
9:00 Mary Hyvonen met with Commissioners regarding the 3rd annual Ken Hyvonen car show which will be held in conjunction with festival on 1st. Would like to close 1st Street. Commissioner Tucker requested the area remain open for emergency responder access. Commissioners approved the request to close 1st Street.
9:10 Corb Strommen joined meeting
9:30 Sanitarian Josh Juarez and Don Hornberger met with Commissioners re Karina Floodplain Permit Application Appeal decision. Recommended not be approved; no Army Corps permit and believe need more information regarding current conditions of Rock Creek to demonstrate compliance. BB moved based on staff reports and data provided that Karina appeal be denied; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
10:00 DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley met for monthly update (report attached). The historical review of the Joliet emergency was approved.
Commissioner Bullock moved to approve Resolution 2017-12 Stage I Fire Restrictions Effective 12:01 am on Tuesday August 8, 2017; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
10:30 Sanitarian Josh Juarez had inspections and was not available for his monthly update. He has noticed an increase in septic inspections this year and is working to get all seasonal license inspections completed. He is working well with Lori Kane and happy to have her assistance.
11:00 Commissioner Bullock moved to approve employee time as submitted; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
