COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS        

         December 5, 2016

         Commissioners Doug Tucker, John Grewell, and John Prinkki and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.

8:30 Pledge of Allegiance

8:40 Clerk and Recorder Marcia Henigman and Election Administrator Judy Christensen met with Commissioners. Commissioner Prinkki submitted his letter of resignation effective March 31, 2017. Marcia, Judy, and Commissioners discussed the process to fill the vacancy.

9:30 Great West Engineering will be redoing the Memorandum of Understanding for the Red Lodge Cr. Bridge. It was delayed.

10:00 Sanitarian Josh Juarez met with Commissioners for his monthly update. He noted issues with wells at the Dot Calm Subdivision. The Subdivision was originally approved with cisterns only and some individual lots have applied to DEQ to drill wells. There have been lots where wells have been drilled without prior DEQ approval; because the aquifer is not recovering DEQ has stopped approvals for all wells in the subdivision. Josh has approved septic systems in the Subdivision with a note that if well not approved they will install a cistern. Josh noted he is receiving quite a few requests for floodplain maps and other floodplain documents that are available on FEMAs website. He will propose fees for these documents at his January meeting. Barb Thormalen has started providing assistance with some administrative items including mailings and filing.

10:30 DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley met with Commissioners for monthly update (report attached). Tom noted the DNRC has proposed changes to the County Assistance protocol allowing any incident command to request state assistance rather the request coming from the County Fire Warden.
