  COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS       

          July 6, 2015

          Commissioners Doug Tucker, John Grewell, and John Prinkki were present.

           8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.

          Commissioners received a letter from Election Administrator Judy Christensen notifying them that no primary was necessary for Municipal Elections.

Jay and Allison Brewer met with Commissioners regarding the barriers on south portion of Vaill Avenue in Belfry to keep folks from using it as a through street. Commissioner Tucker will work with his road crew to get a barrier put in place.

          8:45 Commissioner Tucker moved to accept Clerk and Recorder Deposit Reconciliation for June 2015; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.

          Commissioner Tucker moved to approve meeting minutes for June 29 and July 2; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.

          9:00 Sheriff Josh McQuillan, Undersheriff Dan McJunkin, Rural Fire #7 Chief Tom Kuntz met with Commissioners to discuss consolidating the Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator and GIS Manager positions. Tom is concerned the positon does not have a focus on grant writing and believes the County is missing out on funding. They discussed the increasing needs and costs of GIS work and the anticipated efficiencies of bringing the position in house and combining it with Rural Addressing and Disaster and Emergency Services. Commissioner Grewell moved to eliminate the position of Disaster Emergency Services / Rural Addressing Coordinator and create a new position of GIS Manager and Disaster and Emergency Services / Rural Addressing Coordinator and change the job description accordingly; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

          9:30 Road Superintendent Shawn Mains met with Commissioners regarding road maintenance issues.

          11:00 Commissioners participated in the fire restrictions conference call. Carbon County will not implement any restrictions at this time.
