Commissioners Scott Miller and Scott Blain; and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
City Council Representative Shinta Daniels met regarding the County Sand Shed construction timeline. Also discussed was the Whistler Observatory construction and the City’s Resolution which specifies a maximum footprint for the construction.
Blain moved to approve amended minutes from May 4th 2023, to include the motion to dispose of Joliet property and Old Meeteetse road bridge; Miller seconded; discussion about disposal forms being signed at that meeting but the motion not being properly recorded; motion carried.
Commissioners discussed a request from the American Legion to use ARPA money to pay for a storage building while the new building is being built. It is the Legion’s intent to sell the storage shed once it is no longer needed and to put those funds toward the reconstruction. Blain moved to approve the purchase as requested; Miller seconded; motion carried.
10:00 Contract Civil Attorney Jacque Papez met for County Attorney time. Discussed the Supreme Court’s decision on the Alliance for the Wild Rockies decision regarding the Forest Service Logging project and scheduling conference in Bennett case, the trial would be fall of 2024. Blain moved to close the meeting to discuss litigation strategy in the Bennett case and litigation from Matriarch Construction; Miller seconded; motion carried.
10:30 Meeting reopened. Commissioners approved Papez to accept service for the Matriarch litigation.
