COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS        

August 29, 2016

Commissioners Doug Tucker, John Grewell, and John Prinkki were present.

8:30 Pledge of Allegiance

Matt Arno from the Department of Natural Resource and Conservation DNRC met with Commissioners to discuss their interactions with the Forest Service. His position was created by HB510 to assist local governments with wildfires and other issues that may arise in the national forests. Commissioners noted that they have not received an update from the current district ranger.

9:20 DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley requested the Rural Address fee be dropped to $40. Tom noted the cost off assignments decreased with the position being in-house; this fee similar to surrounding counties.

Commissioner Tucker moved to reduce rural address fees to $40 including signage as proposed; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.

Commissioner Grewell moved approval of August 11, 2016 meeting minutes; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

Commissioners signed the agreement for Time Clock Plus On Demand.

Commissioners reviewed the 2016-2017 Budget.

7:00 Budget Hearings were reconvened at the Joliet Extension Office. No members of the public were present.

Commissioners discussed road department costs and time tracking; the upgraded TimeClock Plus system will expanded cost tracking capabilities.

Commissioners discussed having Commissioner Tucker assume some of the administrative functions of the Road and bridge department including preparing bid specifications, inspecting gravel crushing, and processing permit paperwork for various projects.
