COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS

Commissioners Doug Tucker and John Grewell and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.

8:30 Pledge of Allegiance

Commissioner Tucker moved to approve Commissioner Proceedings for December 12th and 15th; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.

Barb Beck met with Commissioners to let them know that the fishing access at Edgar will be on the commission’s agenda in January or February.

Commissioners received letter of resignation from David Alsager as Red Lodge district representative on the Carbon County Planning Board. His term was set to expire December 31, 2017.

9:00 County Attorney Alex Nixon met with Commissioners. He noted that the Crowley Fleck law firm has been retained by Everpower.

9:30 Commissioner Grewell moved res 2016-28 Establish the 2017 Fire Season and Related Burn Permits and Fees; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

Commissioner Grewell moved Resolution 2016-29 to Establish 2017 Rate of incarceration; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

Commissioner Grewell moved to appoint Commissioner Doug Tucker as Presiding Officer for calendar year 2017; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

11:00 Commissioner Tucker opened the Public Hearing for the creation of Carbon County Cemetery District No. 8 – Red Lodge. Daniel Gainer, Burt Dowthit Jr., Deputy Clerk and Recorder Lola Ashby, and Bill Foisy Red Lodge City Council were present. Dan Gainer thanked the Board for their assistance through the process. Commissioner Grewell read responses from protests forms as attached. Protests received constituted approximately 8% of the district. Commissioner Grewell read draft resolution. Commissioner Grewell moved adoption of resolution 2016-30 as corrected to Order a Referendum on the Creation of the Carbon County Cemetery District No. 8 – Red Lodge; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
