COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS        

December 8, 2016

Commissioners Doug Tucker and John Grewell, and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.

8:30 Pledge of Allegiance

Commissioners met with DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley and road foreman to discuss road mapping layer. They would like to track signage, culverts, surface maintenance repair and, bridge ratings.

9:00 Marcia Henigman and Judy Christensen met with Commissioners for a conference call with MACo Attorney Brian Hopkins regarding upcoming Commissioner District #3 vacancy. Brian agreed the solicitation of applicants needed to be published twice no more than 40 days before vacancy occurs. The resigning commissioner can not vote in the selection of their replacement, but could participate as any other member of the public. The Commissioners have more latitude in appointment at it is at their discretion.

9:20 County Attorney Alex Nixon and Civil Deputy Attorney Jacque Papez joined the meeting. Discussed phone call regarding the commissioner vacancy. Alex noted he is considering adding amending his legal secretary’s job description to include items to bring the office into compliance with Marcy’s Law. The added work load will probably require an additional employee in his office.
