COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS
February 22, 2022
Commissioners Scott Miller, Scott Blain, and Bill Bullock; and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
Frank Jarvenpaa and Lynette Mochmer in attendance for public comment. They are starting a petition to get Highway Department to better accommodate Amish buggy traffic. Would like another foot of shoulder, with rumble strips they don’t have enough room to stay on shoulder. Would like support from the Commissioners as MDT moves forward with their construction plans for Highway 212. Bullock noted that property taxes do not fund the majority of MDT, their funding is primarily from fuel taxes. Bullock noted conversations he has had with MDT; their opinion is that the highway is to facilitate the movement of motor vehicles not necessarily to accommodate buggy traffic.
Kohley joined the meeting. Discussed FFP skid steers that are to be delivered today.
Discussed ARPA funds, Bullock has had an inquiry from a ditch company about the County reopening the funding up for grants. Commissioners agreed that the funds should be retained for building improvements; Blain would not feel good to award funding to one ditch company and not the rest.
10:00 Airport Board Meeting. Merrell Pfeifer, Gary Harem, Steve Smith, Jeff Wise, Barbara Krizek, Andy Teetzel, and Sheldon Hill were present.

11:00 Discussion about 1998 Exotic Dancing Ordinance. Commissioners would like to add language to Marijuana Business Interim Zoning regulations requiring setbacks from exotic dancing establishments.

Commissioners also discussed adding libraries, community centers, and senior centers to setbacks. Discussed local licensing; Bullock concerned County does not have resources to monitor. Blain asked about charges for public safety items like fire suppression.

Discussion regarding bullet holes shot out in mini-excavator at Phillips Gravel Pit, also found bullet holes in mailboxes and a garage on Bridger – Fromberg Road. A report has been filed with the Sheriff’s Office and Bridger Police and is under investigation.

12:00 Lunch

1:00 Discussed On-Call Architect Request for Proposals. Commissioners would like to add language regarding Capital Improvement planning.

1:40 Adjourned.
