COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS
January 18, 2022
Commissioners Scott Miller and Bill Bullock; and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
Public comment. Vern Heisler met with Commissioners regarding rodeo scholarship fundraiser and the possibility of hosting a bronze for people to view at County building. Also continued last week’s discussion regarding Phillips Pit approach. Heisler would like mining location moved north so approach could be better situated and pit would be out of his view shed.
9:00 Steve Smith, Gary Harem, Jeff Wise, Jim Griell, and Lance Bauser met with Commissioners regarding the Independent Fee Estimate (IFE) for the Red Lodge Airport Master Plan. Aeronautics awarded grants for 5% of master plan (this reduces the local match to 5%) and 50% of requested funds for taxiway maintenance. The FAA requires an IFE for any project over a specific dollar amount to verify the reasonableness of fees. Smith moved to approve match and costs associated with IFE; Harem seconded; discussion regarding fees, funding sources, and cash flow concerns (with current fund balance cash flow is not a concern); motion carried.
Miller moved to approve Commissioners’ Proceedings for December 28, 2021; Bullock seconded; motion carried.

Commissioners received an email from MACo regarding the Statewide Public Safety Communications Advisory Council; Bullock will complete the questionnaire.

10:30 Miller moved to accept employee time for 1/2/2022-1/15/2022 as submitted; Bullock seconded; motion carried.

11:00 Tractor Sale bids. Two bids received as follows:

Scott Kelly $13,351.51
Val E. Harris $13,000.00

Miller moved to accept Kelly’s bid as the highest bid; Bullock seconded; motion carried.

12:00 Adjourned.

Respectfully submitted: Angela Newell, Administrative Officer
