COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS

Commissioners Scott Miller, Scott Blain, and Bill Bullock; and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
9:30 Red Lodge City Mayor Kristen Cogswell met for her weekly meeting. Commissioners noted that contrary to what may be portrayed in the Carbon County News today, the County is not interested in taking over recycling operations. Cogswell noted she was not sure where that came from as she was sure that was the County’s position. Discussed Terry Durbin’s request to Disaster and Emergency Services (DES) Coordinator Cyrina Allen for flood related meeting and planned Table Top exercises. Also discussed flood debris removal projects and 19th Street Bridge repairs which are being spearheaded by the Montana Department of Transportation.
10:00 County Attorney Alex Nixon met for his weekly meeting. Discussed lease draft for Dietz Gravel pit, the City of Red Lodge’s position in relation to the Airport boundaries and Joint Airport Board’s authority, and a past road abandonment that has left a property land locked.
11:00 Historic Preservation Officer Becky Van Horn met for Historic Preservation Certified Local Government Grant. Blain moved to approve the for Historic Preservation Certified Local Government Grant Application; Miller seconded; motion carried.
