COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS
January 28, 2019
Commissioners Robert ‘Pits’ DeArmond, Scott Blain, and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioners received letters of interest for the Joliet Shop opening from Richard Gorsuch and Matt Lammiman. Richard will be assigned to the Joliet Shop. Commissioners received letters of interest for the Red Lodge Shop opening from Randy Korell and Sam Kallevig. Randy will be assigned to the Red Lodge Shop leaving a vacancy in Bridger. Shop transfers will be effective February 4.
10:00 Commissioners participated in a conference call with Stephanie Ray from CTA to discuss the planning services contract. Commissioners noted the contract is working out well and do not see any gaps that are not being filled while Forrest Mandeville is in the legislature. CTA is able to provide SWPP services, but Stephanie suggested it would be more economical for an employee to get their SWPP certification. Floodplain Manager Annie Gillespie will be trained and take over from CTA once she is certified. Stephanie and Commissioners also discussed renewing the contract for 2019-2020.
Sheriff Josh McQuillan forwarded a letter from Red Lodge Police Chief Wells requesting the County provide prisoner transports. Commissioner Blain discussed the issue with Sheriff McQuillan and County Attorney Alex Nixon. The County would like direction from a higher authority that it is the County’s responsibility to transport the city’s prisoners. At this time the Commissioners do not believe a meeting with the City is necessary.
