Commissioners Scott Miller, Scott Blain, and Bill Bullock; and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
Building Maintenance Coordinator Mike Schilz met regarding Cedarwood. Commissioners confirmed that requests to access the building from the previous owner need to go through their office and approved the tool chest and associated tools to be acquired by the Building Maintenance Department.
9:00 Sanitarian Barbara Krizek and Assistant Lori Kane met for the department update. Krizek reviewed her written report (attached). Krizek discussed concerns with owner installs and the potential for those installer licenses being used on other systems. Discussion regarding complaints and efforts for Brookings Day Care to come into compliance.
9:40 Blain moved to elect Miller as Presiding Officer and Blain as Vice Presiding Officer through December 31, 2024; Bullock seconded; motion carried.
Blain moved to approve Resolution 2023-01 Establish Annual Fire Season for 2023; Bullock seconded; motion carried.
Blain moved to approve Resolution 2023-02 Establish Annual Rate of Incarcerations for 2023; Bullock seconded; motion carried.
Bullock moved to approve Resolution 2023-03 Establish a Location for Posting Public Notices; Blain seconded; motion carried.
10:30 Geospatial Information Systems Coordinator / Fire Warden Tom Kohley met for his monthly update. Kohley presented a draft County Road map he would like to make available to the public at a cost. Cost of producing map is approximately $5.50; Commissioners noted they are ok with selling the maps for $5.00 to make easy change for purchase. Kohley noted he is working to categorize each structure in the GIS database according to new standards.
Bullock moved to approve employee time with noted corrections for Kohley and Asbury; Miller seconded; motion carried.
11:00 Disaster and Emergency Services (DES) Coordinator Cyrina Allen and Kohley met regarding Fire Season Resolution. Commissioners noted it was approved when they did their other annual Resolutions earlier in the morning.
