Kohley is seeking a $7,000 grant to provide Rural District volunteers access to push-to-talk technology on their cell phones to access the radio system via the Zello software. Kohley noted antiquated radios and the high cost for Departments to replace radios for volunteers. Kohley does not intend the app to be used for mission-critical communications, but it does allow for radio traffic to be monitored without the purchase of a radio. Bullock moved to approve the grant application; Blain seconded; motion carried. Kohley also presented new road maps for the Road Shops.
Bullock noted Red Lodge School will be hosting a CDL training and has requested use of an operator and truck to assist with the training.
