COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS
June 8, 2015
Commissioners Doug Tucker, John Grewell, and John Prinkki were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
9:00 Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator Darrel Krum and Undersheriff Dan McJunkin met with Commissioners regarding the radio tower site lease agreement with Ron Wolfe. Commissioner Grewell moved to accept lease agreement; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
Darrel also presented solicited quotes for the concrete work necessary for the tower site. Commissioner Grewell moved to accept low quote from Matt Brown for concrete work on the Bearcreek Hill tower site; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
9:30 Commissioner Grewell moved to approve Resolution 2015-09 Treasure State Endowment Program Bridge Inventory and accompanying Planning Grant Application; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
10:00 Commissioners participated in a web presentation from SeamlessGov for digitizing county permit submissions.
11:00 Mitch Heiken and Road Superintendent Shawn Mains met with Commissioners regarding the petition to abandon portions of Vista Lane (formally known as Krug Lane). Petition notes that the roadway is private and asks that the last portion (364 ft.) be nullified. Commissioner Grewell’s research indicates that the road was never accepted by the County and is not a County Road. A portion of the road was overlaid in 2009 at the request of a landowner; the previous Commissioner could not determine if it was a County road at the time and performed the overlay. The County will cease maintenance on the road as it is not a County Road. Home owners may need to create a Home Owners Association to oversee the maintenance of the road or petition for a Road Improvement District. John Grewell noted that he appreciates the landowners bringing the road to the attention of the Commissioners.
Patricia Cantrell address change request will be deferred to the Rural Addressing Department.
Commissioner Grewell moved to approve commissioner meeting minutes for May 14th and 28th; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
11:30 Road Superintendent Shawn Mains met with Commissioners to discuss East Rosebud Road maintenance. The portion of the East Rosebud Road south of the Sanford Bridge is not a County Road. At one time the County had a schedule A Maintenance Agreement with the Forest Service to maintain the road, but it has long since expired.
Commissioner Grewell moved to cease all maintenance on roadways that are not county roads, including the portion of East Rosebud Road south of the Sanford Bridge, except in cases of emergency including firefighting; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
