Commissioners Scott Blain and Bill Bullock, and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
Gordon Sirrine and Willis Herden were present.
8:50 Susan Hovde met with Commissioners to discuss complaint at Joliet Shop about construction in the “wetlands” behind the shop. Commissioner Blain received notice from Army Corps that there had been a complaint. Susan brought photos taken before and after the shop was built. Susan also discussed courthouse addition roof drainage issues with Commissioners; she will work with the contractor on a solution.
8:55 Audrey Wallaser joined the meeting.
9:12 DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley met with Commissioners regarding flooding on Clear Creek Road. Tom also noted temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high 40s, but the snow melt will depend on solar exposure. Commissioner Bullock asked about night time temperatures; Tom will check. Commissioners are not prepared to issue a disaster declaration.
9:30 Commissioner Bullock and County Attorney Alex Nixon discussed, via phone, hiring a temporary employee at the Red Lodge shop to cover an employee who is on Work Comp leave.
10:25 Commissioner Bullock signed Historic Preservation Services agreement that was approved last Thursday.
Discussed seasonal recall and layoff procedures. Angela is working with Weed District Coordinator Brian Ostwald and Deputy County Attorney to develop template letters for seasonal recalls and layoffs. Commissioners agreed employees should be able to “work out” accrued vacation and comp time after the formal layoff date as has been past practice.
Commissioner Blain moved to approve employee time for March 4 -17; Commissioner Bullock seconded; motion carried.
11:00 Commissioner Bullock spoke with Bill Lloyd from Great West Engineering, via phone, regarding the Bridge Capital Improvement Plan and Treasure State Endowment Program Grant Funding.
11:25 Commissioner Blain moved to accept Commissioner Proceedings from February 21 and 22nd; Commissioner Bullock seconded; motion carried.
