COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS

Commissioners Doug Tucker, John Grewell, and John Prinkki and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.

8:30 Pledge of Allegiance

Scott Boggio met with Commissioners to submit his application for the Red Lodge District Commissioner seat. He stayed to observe the meeting.

Treasurer Jane Swanson-Webb met with Commissioners regarding Jerry Deville’s retirement. Commissioners approved advertising to fill the position.

The Red Lodge City Council will be holding a public hearing regarding de-annexation of the County Fairgrounds. They have requested the fence on the west side of the airport be moved to better accommodate snow plowing. The City is working with the Rodeo Association to extend Rodeo Road.

10:00 Sanitarian Josh Juarez was out sick and not available for his monthly update.

10:15 Howdy Hildebrand, Greg Grewell, Darlene Schwend and DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley met with Commissioners regarding removing a log jam and other work in Rock Creek. Commissioner Prinkki noted FEMA Floodplain regulations require work in the stream to be engineered before they can receive a floodplain permit; that requirement cannot be waived on the local level.

10:30 DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley reviewed his monthly update (attached).

11:00 Steve Keebler, Chris Devries, and Rena Negard from the Roberts Water and Sewer District and Greg Luxasik with GreatWest Engineering met with Commissioners for a public hearing on Roberts Water and Sewer District Community Development Block Grant application. Chris noted the District has had to run the pumps almost constantly to deal with excess water coming into system from private residences. Commissioners believe this project is a good use of CDBG funds and would make an appropriate application.
