Commissioners Scott Blain and Bill Bullock; and Administrative Officer Angela Newell were present.
1:00 Joel Bertolino, Jayce Head, and Myrna Latusky from Beartooth RC&D met to discuss the Economic Development Administration Grants. Discussed planning grants, resiliency grants, possibility of grant for workforce housing (no housing, but workforce development is one of the priorities), possibility of planning grant for Cedar Wood and then construction grant.
Discussed longevity, equity, disaster response benefits of the central location. Building security, maintenance efficiency, public/staff safety, ADA accessibility, and other benefits to vulnerable populations. Economic benefits of making commercial properties available for development close to main street.
Head provided an update on the old Rocky Fork Inn property. The City of Red Lodge is pursuing a buyout of the property under the FEMA PA program; they are hoping to revert it into a green space. Once the buyout process has been completed, DEQ Brownsfield funds can be used for demo the property if the structure is determined to be “unsound.”
